Since 2011, Faith Connections on Mental Illness has hosted a day-long annual conference featuring nationally recognized experts to address issues associated with faith and mental illness.

 The keynote speaker for our 2016 Spring Conference was the Rev. Gary Nelson, author of A Relentless Hope: Surviving the Storm of Teen Depression, in which he shared his son’s depression and anxiety as a teen.   Many of our supporting congregations hosted book discussion groups in preparation for this live-changing and potentially live-saving event.

  • Optional Continuing Ed credits offered by Wake AHEC for Psychologists, School Personnel, and other professionals.​
  • Average attendance of 300 clergy, lay persons, mental health professionals, and other individuals interested in the topics.​​

Professional credit available from Wake AHEC
Category A NC Psychology Credit: This program will provide 2.0 contact hours of continuing education for North Carolina Psychologists.

Wake AHEC CEU: Wake AHEC will provide 0.5 CEU to participants upon completion of this activity.

Contact Hours: Wake AHEC will provide up to 5.25 contact hours to participants. 

Public School Personnel Renewal Credit (PSPR): Certificates for 5.25 contact hours of education will be awarded at the completion of the program.
